Booking & Payments

How do I book?

  1. Simply fill out the “Request to Book” form on the restaurant page.
  2. Check your email inbox for a confirmation and link to pay the 25% deposit.
  3. Once paid your booking is confirmed and a meal voucher will be issued.
  4. Simply present this voucher at the restaurant and pay the balance after your meal.

When is the deposit due?

The 25% deposit must be paid within three (3) days of receiving a confirmation email from Group Meals Rome. The due date will be listed on your e-invoice.

What does the deposit cover?

The 25% deposit covers all service fees and pre-orders made by the restaurant for your group.

Is the deposit refundable?

The 25% deposit is non-refundable. There are no exceptions to this policy.

What if I do not pay the deposit?

The booking is automatically cancelled if the deposit is not paid within three (3) days of receiving an e-invoice from Group Meals Rome. This will be at 23:59 GMT +1 (Rome) on the due date. This is equivalent to 5:59 PM Eastern Standard Time (New York). This time will be listed on your e-invoice.

Can I pay the full amount upfront?

Large groups or agencies packaging the meals into a tour program may prefer to pay the full amount of the meal upfront. This is possible, but please note that there is a 3.9% surcharge that will be added to the total cost of the meal.

What methods of payment are accepted?

We accept all major credit cards.

Are payments secure? Who processes them?

All payments are processed by Stripe. Group Meals Rome will never request the credit card information of the paying party. Learn more about Stripe below, or visit their website here.

Security

Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. To accomplish this, we use the best-in-class security tools and practices to maintain a high level of security at Stripe.

Encryption of sensitive data and communication

All card numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Decryption keys are stored on separate machines. None of Stripe’s internal servers and daemons can obtain plaintext card numbers but can request that cards are sent to a service provider on a static whitelist. Stripe’s infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in a separate hosting environment, and doesn’t share any credentials with Stripe’s primary services (API, website, etc.).

Changing or Cancelling

Can I change the time or date of the meal?

Yes. Changes in meal time or date are possible but subject to the restaurant’s availability. Please note that changes in group size will only be accepted if received more than three (3) days before the meal date. This will be listed on your invoice.

If my group increases in size is an additional deposit necessary?

Yes, a deposit equivalent to 25% of the total price increase. Group Meals Rome will issue an invoice for this amount as soon availability is confirmed.

If my group decreases in size can the deposits be refunded?

No, the 25% deposit is always non-refundable.

Can I change the menu selection?

Changes in menu selection are not possible. Please understand that – especially for larger groups – our restaurants need to pre-order certain ingredients.

How do I cancel my meal?

Simply contact us below to cancel your meal. Please note that the 25% deposit is non-refundable.

What if I have food allergies?

Food allergies and dietary restrictions can be accommodated at every restaurant in our network. That being said, there will be no choice of menus for those with food allergies or dietary restrictions. You can expect, however, a mix of seasonal vegetables – fresh or grilled, and for gluten intolerances, grilled meats or plain risotto.

Vegan, vegetarian, celiac and any other special requests should be communicated immediately on arrival at the restaurant.

What’s Included

What does the cost include?

The cost includes everything outlined on the menu that you have selected. It furthermore includes the restaurant service fee and all gratuities and tips. There are no hidden fees!

Are beverages included?

Beverages are not included in the price of the meal.

What if my group feels inclined to leave a tip?

Gratuity is included in the cost of the meal, however if someone feels inclined to tip a minimal amount of 1-3 euro per person is more than sufficient.

About the Menu

Does the meal come out in individual courses?

Yes. Every menu includes an “antipasto” – an appetizer. This will then be either a “primo” – a first – a “secondo” – a second -or both, depending on your menu selection. A “dolce” – a desert – will then be served.

Are beverages included?

Beverages are not included in the price of the meal.

What if I have food allergies?

Food allergies and dietary restrictions can be accommodated at every restaurant in our network. That being said, there will be no choice of menus for those with food allergies or dietary restrictions.
